We need your help

Volunteers are an integral part of TVCAS.  From walking dogs and cleaning cages to planning fundraisers and assisting in the office, we need and appreciate all of the work done by volunteers here at the shelter.

Interested in Volunteering?
If you would like to volunteer on a specific date, please call the shelter to put yourself on the calendar,  208-354-3499.

Our Mission:

To provide a safe and loving environment for lost, abandoned and neglected animals in Teton Valley.  To decrease the number of animals that are homeless through education and an active spay/neuter program.

Please complete this application if you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Teton Valley Community Animal Shelter.  Once your application is complete please submit it to a staff member at TVCAS or email it to manager@tvshelter.org.  The volunteer coordinator will contact you regarding which orientation meeting you will be attending.  Volunteer orientation is held on the first Sunday and Wednesday of every month at 11 am.  If you are unable to attend an orientation on those days, please indicate that on your application and we will try to accommodate you on a different day.  Please understand that volunteers are an integral part of our program.  However, due to the small number of staff it may take us up to a week to get back to you regarding your orientation date and training.

Volunteer Criteria:

      - Be 12 years of age or older.   If you are under the age of 12 but would still like to help, please contact the shelter manager for alternative ideas of how you can help the homeless animals.

      - Youths between 12-15 are required to volunteer with a parent or adult chaperone. This adult must also attend a volunteer orientation with the youth.

      - We like at least a minimum of a 6 month commitment.  If you are a seasonal resident, please indicate that.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering.  Your help allows us to provide homeless animals with the care they deserve while they are waiting for their forever homes.

Isi and Abi saved their allowances for the past five weeks and used the money to buy three cases of cat food for the TVCAS. The girls (shown with Dexter) are a wonderful example of the generosity of our community. Thank you very much ladies, you are a big part of the team!
